modding a "fat" psp with 3.30 firmware

hi i have a "fat" psp with firmware 3.30 and would like to know what i need to do first in order to change/downgrade my firmware etc?

sorry to make you all repeat yourselves however im a little confused after reading so many threads and none have a straight forward answer to my situation.

also whilst googling i noticed there is a new fimware upgrade from homebrew and am curious if this is what i should be looking at installing or not?

You need to downgrade to 1.50. Upgrade to 3.03 and then downgrade using Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories or upgrade to 3.50 and downgrade using Lumines. Then you'll be at 1.50. Once you're there, you can then upgrade to any CFW. I suggest 3.71 M33-3. First you'll have to install 3.71 M33 then just install a patch for 3.71 M33-3.

How the hell can he upgrade to 3.03 if he has 3.30?
