it should work. if i were you, and you live in the US, i'd by the Syba VIA 150 (non-raid) off of newegg. it's cheap and the card of choice for folks on this board.

Guys, let me share my BAD experience with you. I thought too, "What's the difference, all SATA cards are kinda the same" -- right? WRONG! I got a cheap card off of eBay and MTKFlash found it OK and stuff but when I attempted to flash the drive it gave out a ton of errors and BRICKED my DVD drive!

It took me several days of hectic reading of the forum to figure out what to do. I eventually got that recommended Syba VIA 150 (non-raid) off of newegg and was able to re-flash my drive and made it work. It took me a week and a half for that to happen!

The bottom line -- DON'T BE CHEAPSKATES AND SMARTASSES -- buy the exact kind that is mentioned in tutorial -- you'll win in a long run.

The reason for using that recommended card is because the MTKFlash program (the one that actually interfaces with the drive via DOS) was written for that particular chipset ONLY! That is why it can still flash your card bypassing BIOS -- if you remember that very strange move to power-on 360 after you boot your PC in DOS -- the unheard of thing if you're talking about any other hardware.
