Updtae to 3.03 and downgrade using GTA: Liberty City Stories or update to 3.50 and downgrade using Lumines.

Then you can use as much homebrew as you want.

You have 2 options.

1) This is the easiest and safest way. Create a Pandora Battery and magic memory stick which will install straight to 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware. You will need to know someone that has a custom firmware PSP and ask them to help you create it. HERE is the guide to do that.

After you update to 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware go HERE and download the 3.71 M33-3 update. Extract the file and drag the UPDATE folder to the /PSP/GAME folder and then run the update via Game Menu Memory Stick.

-----------------------------------------

2) Downgrade the PSP to 1.50 using a Lumines unpatched game. Go HERE and follow the guide under -3.10 - 3.50 Any Motherboard. You will need an unpatched version of Lumines game to use this guide.

After you downgrade to 1.50 you need to follow the guide HERE and update to 3.52 M33-4 custom firmware.

After your at 3.52 M33-4 you need to go HERE and follow this guide to update to 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware.

After you update to 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware go HERE and download the 3.71 M33-3 update. Extract the file and drag the UPDATE folder to the /PSP/GAME folder and then run the update via Game Menu Memory Stick.

---------------------------------------

After you update to 3.71 M33-3 go HERE to get your ISO/CSO games to work properly.

Yup, larrylje's right but for Pandora's Battery, you need another PSP.

I have a question to the text that I've highlighted.
How can 00000001 update to 3.03 if he's got 3.40? I've never heard of this... Am I missing out on something?

If you take the Pandora route, don't forget that it is possible to make a Pandora Battery without a Custom Firmware PSP. The downside is that you have to use a spare battery, because it is permanent (i.e. no games with this battery).

Here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/591203

I recommend that before opening the battery you discharge it as much as you can, then watch over it when recharging to make sure it doesn't splode on you.

GENERATION 20: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

lol, that happened to me once but not with a battery. My friend put a metal clip in an outlet and my hand was next to it. It popped and I got a shock. My two fingers were all swollen for two weeks. XD

So yeah 00000001, make sure you do it well if you're intrested in that method. XD

Nope itll be a Pandora's Battery permanently. You will be able to charge it by taking the battery out, pluging in the AC adaptor to your PSP and then put in the battery and itll charge.

No, you can just use a regular battery to play homebrew, isos etc. and keep the pandora's battery in case you brick or want to downgrade.

while making the battery during the creating the battery on the psp part simpley press /\ and it will flash the eprom of your battery to the magic stick then run the creator again and press x to make pandoras battery use the battery and after finished simply run the creator again and this time press[] or O you will have to read your screen i haven't look in a while this will turn your battery into a regular battery

L + R to flash your EEPROM to your battery...
[_] to flash a fake serial but works as a normal battery..

y4m4h4 has suggested that he HARDMOD the battery. The Pandora Creator is not used when hardmodding it.

If you hardmod the battery with the wire method (Below) all your doing is bridging 2 points on the battery board to get it into service mode. So there should be no reason why you can't unsolder the wire to get the Battery back into normal mode.

Even if you use the below method to cut or lift the #5 pin I am positive I have seen threads of people soldering the pin connection back to get the Battery back into normal mode.

Yea, I had OFW 3.80 on a PSP SLIM. This is what I did step by step:

Opened my battery with a flat head screw driver....
Got a safety pin and broke off the bottom right pin.
(Now I have a Pandora Battery)
Here's a pic of a SLIM battery:
http://my.afterdawn.com/pjpsp/show_image.cfm/15924
****break the bottom right pin****

Now you have a Pandora Battery.

TIP:: For those not wanting to buy a new battery....
Start your PSP with the AC adapter and no Battery
Once the PSP is on... put in the Pandora Battery (do not power off system while you do it)
Unplug the AC adapter....

You can now use your pandora battery as a normal battery.

****If you power down (or sleep) your PSP you'll need to follow these steps again to use your pandora battery as a normal one.*****

There is also Boosters Multi Load IPL but I can't get it to install correctly with Windows Vista.
