I have a cable connection of chello (Holland) My download speed from the internet is around 200 kb/sec.
But when i try to download something from Mirc, it downloads with 20 kb/sec.

Does anyone know the reason??

It all depends on the bot. If you download from a slow bot you get slow speeds. On the otherhand, some of the more powerful bots you can easily score 400-500KB/s.

Also depends on whatever the hell else people got running, ive had people complain about slow IRC speed and then tell me they had kazaa running....................................

download speed from IRC can be affected by network traffic ( the IRC network could be congested or just hella slow), the bot/servers speed, how many other sends the bot/server already has going and in cases of cross country/nation sends, how many routers, gateways etc did the download go thru before coming to you in the end.

Keep trying, the bot will send when its ready. speeds tend to pick up when the amount of sends bot/server has drops to a low level
