I tried uploading a movie by using DVD Fab and then shrinking the files with DVD Shrink. There wasn't enough space on my hard drive to do so, so the upload errored. After clearing enough space, I keep getting the same not enough space error on every movie I try at the same point the first one errored which is 37%. I uninstalled and reinstalled DVD Shrink but it still keeps erroring and telling me there is a memory problem but there is plenty of space on my hard drive.

After you made room on your HDD did you empty Nortons protected recylce bin, if that is what you use? What is the name of the movie and what version of DVDFab HD Decrypter are you using?

hi :)
after your first statement that you agreed you had not enough HDD.
how much free space did you end up with...you may already know this, but i'll say it anyway (a lot of new burnies don't)
the amount of free HDD needed is a lot more than realised. the sample below is to illustrate
the disc you are copying to..........= 4.7Gb
disc you are copying (for example)...= 4.2Gb
15% of total for pc to do it's thing = 1.3Gb
free space needed.....................= 10.2Gb (or there abouts)
if it's a D/L then the amount needed increases dramatically

The first dvd was Talladega Nights and now I am trying to upload Casino Royale. I did clear the recycle bin and there is plenty of hard drive space. I have over 30 GB of free space currently on my hard drive. I have the newest version of DVD Fab 4.0.1.2. I reinstalled Fab and Shrink and am having the same problem. There must have been some kind of log saved on my hard drive or something after the error and it keeps recurring.

I am also having a problem backing up the dvd. I used the DVDFab decryptor first, and then i opened the files and hit back up, but i sill get an error around 35 or 37%. ALSO, i notice that when the backing up process gets near 35% it slows down tremdously. Any suggestions?

Are you backing up the entire disc or movie only? Try running your ripped files through FixVTS before importing into DVD Shrink.

If you are getting an out of memory error in DVD Shrink that has nothing to do with hard drive space. The out of memory error is usually caused by a bad rip, have you tried ripping these movies with Ripit4Me? There are a number of titles when ripped with Fab that are causing problems for both DVD Shrink and DVD Rebuilder.

I downloaded the beta version of Fab and that seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you all for your suggestions.

Here's the path to where the analysis files for Shrink are stored.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DVD Shrink
It's a hidden folder. It won't hurt to delete all of them.
Not removing all the copy protection will trigger the memory error. I noticed someone mentioned using VobBlanker or FixVTS. Ripping with the latest version of DVDFab HD Decrypter process those files through FixVTS using FullDVD. Since you have limited space, have the process in place option checked in FixVTS. A backup would double the space needed. 7GB would need 14GB with a backup. Once you have the FixVTS processed Video_TS files, open those in DVD Shrink, use the deep analysis and uncheck unneeded audio and language options. Use Quality Settings when doing the transcoding (shrinking). With Talladega nights you need the last version of FixVTS, Talladega Nights was loaded with bogus files. RipIt4Me version 1.7.1.0 will fully process Talladega nights. That's what I used on it.
