Laser fix needed for v7?

I just bought a modbo 750...this being my first post and being new to modding i never knew how small these chips are!

anyways, ive been reading up on the laserfix that came with the the modbo and from what i understand it is only needed for the v12 slim ps2 and also the v9 and v10 ps2s?

my main concern though is that im about to mod my v7 ps2 with the modbo 750 and i need to know whether or not i need to install the laserfix as well.
