I will suggest you, downgrade it to 1.50 and then contact sony for Tech support or warranty workout... so that way they will never tell you you had a OFW on the PSP... with 1.50 even if you cant upgrade, they will NEVER blame you!

PSP (+[__]%): 2.80 < 1.50 > 3.40OE-A > 3.71M33-4 > 3.80m33-5 > 3.90m33-3 > 4.01m33-2 + 8gb MSPD
PS3 HD 60GB: 1.33 > 1.90 > 2.01 > 2.17 - NO OS
Nintendo DS [+[__]%]: EZ Flash 5 Plus + 1GB MicroSD + EZFlash 3in1
Nintendo Wii: 3.2U + 1GB SD Card + WiiKey 1.9s

I think you have a NAND corruption cause NAND has to do something with the UMD (but I'm not sure cause you can use it right? and if you have flash1 corruption you won't be able to use it...)

Wait for other people replies cause I'm not sure with my answer...
:)
