I'm using windows xp, and media player 11 to stream music and video to my 360. I have alot of mpeg and divx videos. after downloading the dashboard update and optional video update my 360 now sees all my video files.

before they would never even appear in the list, now they show up, however most won't play, they have a red circle crossed out around most of them. about 2 of 80 will actually play.

what program is good at converting these to the right format and does it quickly?

Grrrowl I got the same thing as you on Media Centre! I thought this update was including support for Divx grrrrowl.

So what is the best way to stream Divx to my Xbox and then to my TV? Can I use Media Centre ?

Thanks

Hmmm I think most things will run on my xbox now, avi and divx and xvid. I guess no need for traversity?

I did try running traversity but nothing happened on my xbox even though it was running on my PC.

Thanks guys

In case you never found out, it only supports DivX 5 and above. You can use a bit of software called GSpot to find out what version the films you have were encoded with.
