I am going to explain what I did step by step with the hopes that someone could tell me where I went wrong. "get modded", if you are reading this please don't laugh at me, I know you have probably told me the solution 100 times but I still can't get it.

I have an xbox modded with xecuter 2. My friend put the chip in and installed evox..it works.

I am trying to install a 60 gigHD.

1) I swapped drives in the xbox
2) I loaded slayers into the xbox
3) I chose option to "rebuild new large HD - ("c)4920
4) After the new HD was formatted and partioned correctly I chose option "inst/upg XBMP, APPS, EVOX, - Large HD (f:)
5) I removed the disc and rebooted, when it came back on i got the needs service error.
6) Reloaded slayers chose option "rebuild large HD - "F" 4920
7) When that was done I chose option "inst/upg XBMP, APPS, EVOX, - retail (f:)
8) Took out disc and rebooted only to get the same error.

After reading my step by step instruc. can someone tell me what I missed or what i did wrong...

By the way...Before I started messing with the xbox I used see the words xecuter when I booted the system now it has been replaced with microsoft (does this matter) and if so what do I need to do to fix it...Thanks to all in advance....

Do I need to be networked to my PC the whole time I try to install the new HD??? I haven't been

mm

Most bios files are set to load the EvolutionX dash and Microsoft dash from the C drive. Which most likely is what was flashed on your X2 chip since it was working fine with the original harddrive.
When you load Slayers and Choose to Install everything in the F drive your bios still is looking for the files in your C drive.
Can't find them in the C drive since Slayers installed them in the F drive.

You need to either reflash your chip with a bios set to load from the F drive. Should be included with Slayers.

Or move all your dashboard files to the C drive where your current bios is looking for them.

Or download the Team Xavier Installer and use that to set up the harddrive.

That should instll the Microsoft dash to the C drive which should get rid of your error screen. You still won't be able to load the EvolutionX dash from the harddrive until you get the dash files to the C drive also.

Just read this thread, ask just want to ask a question.

I am downloading the Xavier Auto Install as I type, once downloaded, is it this simple:

1. Backup contents of C: on Xbox
2. Remove Old HD, replace with new HD (In XBox)
3. Boot Xbox with Xavier CDR
4. Select an option (Install to C:)
5. Once done reboot with CDR again
6. Copy EvoX dash files form backup back the the XBox C: drive.
7. Reboot to brandnew install of EvoX / MS Dash on new Large HD

Is it that easy? I Got a xecuter2 Lite chip.

Thanks

regards,

Where would I go wrong then from that last post?

Thanks.
