I have a Pioneer A06 and have x4 speed -R's. I've been told that I should not really burn at x4 if I want a really good back up as its more accurate at a slower speed.

I've never had problems with viewing but a few people who have borrowed my DVD's have noticed slight glitches.

I suppose this could be due to their player but whats the general consesus?

I used Shrink and Nero. I did use Decryptor to burn some ISO files and think this may have been with the dodgy copies.

I'm using -R Grade A platinum mirror discs x4speed from Bigpockets. Are these any good or should I use a branded disc?

Branded discs would be better, but if those work for you, use them. I burn all my movies at 4x and never have any problems.
