I have a close-to-launch wii. I know it should work, but I want to make sure. How can I tell what version it is? And what versions work with WiiKey?

If you got it near launch then it should be DMS. The Wiikey will work with it.

Enter your console serial number (found on the underside of the console) here to check which chip you have:

You can use a WiiKey on any chipset up to GC2-D2C.

So Ive got a GC2-DMS drive, with the drive pins not cut. Wiikey will work fine?
