Should I update when the game ask?

I just flashed my benQ drive. When I tried out with a game, it ask that I need to update in order to play. Should I go ahead and update my system via the DVD? Is it safe? or should I update online?

its fine, i play backups all the time and always update mine with no problems

If you have all the new updates you will be fine. and even if you dont, you will prolly be ok. im still using ixtreme 1.2 and xbc 2.7 and its working just fine,
