So I've done some more poking around the net on X-clamp replacement mods and alot of people say its the best thing to do and that they've never had a problem since, while others say they did it with no luck whatsoever or that it worked for a few hours or a few days only to end right back where they started, and then there alot of people saying that those people didnt do the mod right and if they followed the directions they'd be in the same boat as the others that had good luck with it...so I'm confused as to whether or not this is a good mod...I mean logically I can see it makes sense being that the board and processors get super hot and actually melt the factory solder and warp the main board causing a not so good connection between the heatsink and processor. when I had my first run-in with overheating, I took it upon myself to open my xbox and saw that there was alot of dust in it, so I used canned air and blew it all out....that seemed to solve the problem, but now my xbox freezes within a matter of seconds from when I turn on my 360 (Alot of times I cant even get to the dashboard. so my question is...are X-Clamp mods worth the time and effort?
It's been my experience that eventually they'll start messing up again. It's better than nothing though, if you aren't springing for a whole new 360 or at least a new motherboard.

I did a little more digging and these guys seem to know there stuff about the dreaded 3ROLD www.x-clamp-fix.com would anybody here please give me some input as to whether or not this would be a good thing to buy looks likes its only $19.00 they basically give you all the hardware to do this mod and from what they say it is exactly what you need, might be worth it considering drive time to go from place to place looking for correct nuts, washers and bolts to do this mod.
