Trouble Flashing Samsung/Toshiba drive using PCI VIA SATA card

I just bought a Toshiba/Samsung dvd drive for my nephews 360.. his hitachi drive would no longer read discs. I've been trying for the past week to flash it so it can again play Xbox games. I tried with my onboard sata which is nforce.. no luck with that.. it did seem to detect the drive however when using mtkflash it would just hang and then say "status = 00 should be 70" I was told that I should try a PCI SATA card with a VIA chipset. So my VIA is here.. I installed it.. it's working properly in windows.. iprep has it listed as VIA RAID Controller - 3249 I select it make my USB flash boot.. try it and then all mtkflash detects is IDE drives which are my two DVD burners. Can anyone please help me out here this is driving me crazy. I'm going by the tutorial.. I boot my pc.. I boot my xbox 360 with video cable plugged in sata cable left out. When I get to the dos prompt I plug in the sata cable.. then run idump (serial number) and get no detection. My drive is MS25. I've got my hitachi drive key injected in the new firmware.. i have it spoofed as the Hitachi drive and all that. Any help would be massively appreciated! Thank you!

I finally got it flashed! I was using the PCI cards external sata port... I switched to the port on the card that is inside the case and it worked perfectly. I am so glad to get this out of the way and go back to playing my games... this was a painful experience .. so many variables of why things will not work..

Alls good in the world now thanks for the reply.. didn't intrest me though. I wasn't going to switch from Iprep to xtreme boot loader after I had come this far with Iprep.
