I have a hugh problem with my system this started just about a month ago! I use shrink, dvd decrypter and dvd clone you name it I use it well anyways about a month ago my system has been burned dvds no problem with DVD shrink and other programs no problem and then all of a sudden it started coming up to burn errors like all the time on shrink and then I remembered that it is using nero burning technology so I checked nero and found out that my license expired and so i renewed it and it seemed everything was fine and then it started burning about half way and then it started saying DMA error and it would quit and the DVD+R was ruined so I used another dvd+R and it did again and now it's doing it alot with Shrink and the DVD I was burning was a non encypted dvd just a copy of a TV show of my VHS to DVD+R so I figured that it was my plextor drive so I went out and got another Drive a sony DRU-840A dvd burner. Now I thought I was set but no I wasn't I'm still getting burn errors and sometimes it burns all the way sometimes not with shrink and when I use dvd clone(which doesn't use nero technology for burning) sometimes it will burn fine and then alot of times it gets half way and then it says dvd error bad media or something I am really frustrated by this does anybody have any idea what I can do to resolve this! Lately what I have been doing is I use dvd decryter to copy the non encrypted dvd files to my HDD(which I shouldn't have to) and then I use shrink I have 2 DVD burner drives so I use my slave sony drive to burn dvds so when I use shrink I browse for the folder that has the saved dvd files in it and shrink detects them and goes through the whole thing of encoding the files, but while it's doing that I don't put a DVD+R in the burner drive until it asks for it then I put it in normally if I leave a DVD+R in the drive while it's encoding and then when it's ready to burn it automatically detects the DVD+R in the burner drive and it starts burning, but then almost all the time it burns half way and then boom error, but if I wait to put the DVD+R in the drive until it asks for it then it normally burns all the way, but I shouldn't have to wait to put the DVD+R in the drive it should detect it and it should burn all the way! My brother has his own computer and when i use his to burn the DVDs with shrink or clone no problems none, but mine error almost all the time! What could be the problem please help anybody! My specs are:
Windows XP
pentium 4 3.0 G
2 G ram
with 2 sony DRU-840A dvd burner drives
thanks

Hi
1) slow down burn speed to 4x
2) if using nero 8, bad, goto nero 7
3) best to use imgburn

If it's burning half way through then there is something wrong with the media or your drive or your PC.
First, a software change.... Stop decrypting with DVD Decrypter and start using DVDFab HD Decrypter:
http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
Your current DVD Decrypter cannot handle the newer copy protection schemes and will never be updated to be able to.
Use the new program to copy the entire movie to your HDD, as you have been doing. Shrink with Shrink and burn with Nero or as mentioned, burn with ImgBurn...FYI, It's a burning proggy, not a decrypter.
What brand of media are you using? Some are not so good and the quality can be hit and miss. Like Memorex.
Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Datalife are my faves. Try online buying from Supermediastore.com.
Does the burn problem occur with both burners? You have tried burning with both, right? Those are good Sony burners, Have you done a firmware update? You can have ImgBurn check... Go to Tools > Drive > Check for firmware updates. It will take you to rpc1.org to the correct firmware page.
I think this is just a case of too fast burn speed with media of questionable quality.
Take a look at the chart here and see where yours is:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
Edit:
I forgot to mention that if you do use ImgBurn to burn with, you must tell Shrink to make a disc image. ImgBurn can burn both but it's easiest if you just make a .iso with Shrink and have ImgBurn burn that.

Well it's a good idea to keep your firmware up to date but if none is available then I guess it's as up to date as it's going to get for now. Like I mentioned before this is likely a media issue. Did you go to http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm and look at the list?
What are you using?

When u click backup on shrink a new box appears select backup target. Click the arrow down , and when the window opens , under create iso image file, click Iso image file. Then reclick arrow down and you are set to hit the ok button at the bottom
