I'm a complete noob at modding ps2 i was thinking about putting a 300 gig hd in my ps2 and then softmodding it? i heardsomething about if you use hdloader you can't use the whole hd you have to use this other program thanks.

i have a big ps2.

think that is a good way to do it or what? thanks for your responses.

cheapest way i think is to buy swapmagic 3.6 (i got mine for 20 bucks online). With swapmagic you can launch elf files off of a usb device (such as hdloader or ulauncher if you have a bunch of elf files you wanna boot). All you'll need to do is put a folder called SWAPMAGIC on your usb device and then rename the hdloader elf file to SWAPMAGIC.ELF and put that in the SWAPMAGIC folder on your usb. Put in the swap magic dvd version and the usb device in the ps2 and hdloader should boot up after the splash screen shows up. It works for me perfectly =]
