Pls can anyone help... I'm looking for a portable personal video recorder / portable media player with inbuilt freeview/digital receiver and electronic programme guide that allows me to schedule recordings for a week or more ahead.
My requirements are basically very simple... I want a portable viewing device I can set up at the start of the week to record all my favourite programmes. I'll have it plugged in to my home power/aerial/TV most of the time so while its recording my favourite programmes I can also playback any that I've already recorded. If I want to watch a recorded programme on one of the other TVs in the house, I'll just move it to the other TV, plug it into aerial/power/TV and away I go, and it will continue doing the recordings in the schedule. If I want to watch a recording on the train or in the garden it will be ready charged so I'll just unplug it and take it with me - maybe if reception is good enough it can also continue with the scheduled recordings and/or I can watch live TV. If I'm away from home, I'll just plug it into the power/aerial/TV where I'm staying and it'll carry on with the scheduled recordings and I can watch my favourite programmes.
I cant believe I'm the first person who's wanted to do this!
I've searched the internet but I cant seem to find a device that allows me to do this. I thought I'd found what I want with the Archos 700 TV, but whilst it seems to record the Freeview I've read posts that say it doesn't allow you to schedule recordings in advance. Then I saw an Akasa 120gb Freeview PMP on Price-drop TV which looked perfect - I bought it but when it was delivered I found it doesn't record the Freeview (duh!) - it'll be returned.
What do you think? Am I being too ambitious?
