Using the document on http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/dvd2vcd_with_smart_dvd2avi_tmpgenc.cfm, I recently ripped a DVD that I now want to burn onto 2 VCDs. The first one splits, burns and plays ok on my DVD player. The second file however does not. I set the start and end times, proceed to split it but it always stops short. I reckon the file should be around 650MB but it always, I say always as I tried it many times, produces a file of 350MB. If I try to burn this to VCD NERO V5 it displays an error statign the file is not compatible but I can continue with the burn regardles. The burn is successful but the VCD will not play in my DVD player.

Does anyone know what could be causing the problem with the second file? Thanks.

Nalced.

Does the original MPEG-1 file play ok using Media Player or such (specially the second half of the movie which obviously seems to have problems with it)? If so, the problem is actually related to cutting process -- you might want to try this one out:

Yes, the original file plays perfect as I have viewed it many times. I have downloaded VCDCut and will try it out. Thanks.
