I'm trying to capture a 25 minute video via firewire to premiere. It seems to capture fine, but the last 10 minutes the audio gets more and more out of sync. Is there a better program to capture with, or can premiere not capture a clip that long?

Well are you Dropping Frames in Premier because this is usually the cause of Sync Problems in Captured Files...and is your Firewire Card especially made for DV Captureing?? Because useing a Standard Firewire card can cause Capture Problems..I use Vegas Video to capture and edit and if the audio goes out of Sync I can see it on the Timeline because the audio and Video tracks will be different lengths, so all I have to do is use Vegas to Stretch or Shring the audio to the Video length and then it is Back in sync...Cheers

no, its not dropping any frames. I just have a regular firewire card, not specific for capturing video. I will try to use vegas video to capture. Thanks for the advice!

I have a new sony vaio pc and it comes with firewire, rca, and tv cable connections stock. I just got premiere 6 and need to learn it. but that is how I'm going to upload my vhs video.
Now I need to figure out which one of the many programs are available to burn with.
I'm very new to the computer world and cannot burn vcd's correctly LOL! But I have been able to burn a dvd with sony's click to dvd software out of an mpeg file I created with fx converter and TMPGnc. I just need to experiment with encoding/decoding for a while and I'll get the hang of it.
While I'm here, can anyone tell me what process they use to convert thier vhs to dvd with good to great quality?
