Disc read error!?

Ok i just dusted off my first ps2 (fat boy) and it played fine but when i changed games i got this message "disc read error." i tried different games and all ended in the same result. so i opened it up and cleaned the lens thinking that that will fix the issue.... nope same results. what do i do now?

There are many things you can try. Actually do some research and don't just post here for instant answers. For starters search the forum for "disc read error." Then try google "ps2 Disc Read Error."

Not really looking for a quick fix. just tryin to see if there are any other methods to try. i did the lens adjuster, cleaned the rods, cleaned the lens, only thing i didnt do is the voltage. so with that bein said should i jush throw it away or can it be saved......
