Went to look at the virtual console tonight and there is a new update, is this safe with wiikey??? I too big of a pussy to try it out.

I believe its suppsosed to be for the photo channel instead of mp3 format now will be aac format read that somewhere

I just tried it and all my backups and imports work fine.

My Mario Galaxy backup didn't work at first and I panicked. All I did was reset the wii and everything was back to normal... for now.

uh there's no "Gift Channel". It just adds a new feature on the Wii Shop Channel to give VC games as gifts to others.

It's an update to the console which allows you to use the new photo channel 1.1 (Downloaded from the Wii Shop channel), and the New gift option in the Wii Shop channel.

Dose the update change your Wii Firmware version number?

Updated my 3.1e Wii with a WiiKey 1.9g and all is fine, Wii is still at 3.1e and the couple of backups I checked are still working.

WTF! I downloaded this and now I cant use mp3 in the photo channel. It is m4a or whatever. great now I need to find a converter to change my mp3s to m4a format.

go into your downloads bit (Wii bottom left - Data Management - Channels) delete the photo channel 1.1 download and then you'll be back at the 1.0 photo channel that can play mp3, seems a bit easier than converting all your music.

Wii moded with Wiikey 1.9g.
