Okay, well recently I have noticed some freezing when I play Mass Effect. It will randomly freeze during the game, and I have to turn the console off manually(the guide doesn't work). I'm just wondering if anyone knew what the problem could be? The HDD, the disc drive, what? This has also happened on Call of Duty 4, but not as much. It just seems like everytime I play Mass Effect, it'll freeze. They are the original discs, because I haven't modded it.
Also, I purchased Fable from the Xbox Originals service. I downloaded it. I tried to play it, but it would give me an ingame error, saying the disc was scratched. I'm not a genius, but the game isn't on a DISC! I deleted it, downloaded it again, and now it would start up and then freeze at the white "Xbox" screen. I deleted it again, downloaded it, and now it won't even show up in my Games Library. It does for a split second and then disappears. I went to my hard drive to see if was even registering on it. It does, but it says Corrupted game.
I've redownloaded and redownloaded. I'm kind of mad because I did spend money on this, and it won't let me play it.
Also, this is a minor problem, but I bought one of the Chuck episodes under TV Shows. The Crown Vic one, and when I try to download it, it gives me an error that says "Can't Download Chuck: Crown Vic". This doesn't happen on any other shows, because I constantly download different ones.
Im not sure what might be causing the problem with the downloads, however, whats the condition of the original games that crash, and is it only these two games or does the freezing occur with other games too?
Re: mass effect freezing, have you tried playing the game without the hard drive attached? This will allow you to determine if it is the hard drive etc. Make the the DVD is scratch free (check the DVD itself).
