I recently bought a premodded Fat ps2. I made a couple of ps1 backups to play but im not sure how to play them. The seller i got it off never tried it and he cant remember what type of modchip it is.

Can all modchips play ps1 backups? All i know about the modchip is that you hold the power button in as you turn it on for 3 seconds to play ps2 backups. I havent tried the ps1 backups yet but would it play the games the same way that a ps2 game would play?

thanks

Try it out you already made the copy,if it does'nt work then you'll have to open the console & find out what make of chip it is, assuming it's actually modded then do a search for instructions on how to get the modchip to play games

i have a messiah (sp?) chip i think, and for that i have to hold the power button until the blue light on the tray eject button lights up. 3 seconds with burnt ps2 and just press it for originals.

hope this helps at all

Just using internet search the messiah chip appears to boot the copied game automatically,so have you tried putting the already copied games you made in the PS2 & see what happens (assuming they're not corrupted copies)failing that if it will boot original PS2 games then you have to open up the console to check if it actually does have a modchip installed, believing is seeing,it will also tell you the make & model of chip if there is one, then use internet search to find out how to boot copied games
