Hello All

I recently bought an matrix infinity green dot for my ps2 v15 scph-77004, I have the soldering instructions and I opened the 6 screws, voided the warranty and I am now looking at various parts such as fan, cooler, laser etc.. cannot figure out how to get to the chip to mod it. does someone have the instructions for that? thank you very much.

Once you take the top cover of the slimline off, you will see the fan, heatsink, laser, etc. If you have a look at the memory card slots, in between them is a screw, you must remove it to be able to remove the actual motherboard along with everything else out of the bottom shell of the slimline. Once you remove that. You will have to remove the 4 screws holding the dvd drive down, carefully remove the ribbon cables attached to the motherboard to free the dvd drive, do not remove the ribbon of the laser from the motherboard, its better to remove it from the actual laser. Once you remove the dvd drive, you will see a small screw where the dvd drive was sitting, you must remove this screw, once thats done. Turn the unit over, and remove the 4-5 screws on the otherside of the silver I/O shield, and lift it off the board gently, once you have done that, you can start soldering to the board.

Note: If you are not experienced with soldering, then I dont advise you try modding the slimline yourself, as its not as easy as it looks, and its really easy to screw it up.
