MKV to PSP problem

I been searching for a solution as to why MKV with softsubs will either

1. encode properly and work perfectly except for subs which dont show
2. subs encoded into video and converted properly, but psp gives unsupported data error

I need a solution to fix this, im using pspvideo9 v2.25, by default, the settings i use on MKV directly will encode the video and audio but not the subs, but works on psp (with no subs). Other method i used avisynth script with directshow to get the subs in the video, encodes perfectly and all, works on comps, subs show, but psp gives unsupported data error. Solution?
