Hi,

I followed your online tutorial "DVD to VCD with smartRipper, DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc" and created a VCD. It plays on the PC (with PowerDVD) fine. But
when I try to play on the DVD player it won't. I tied it on the JVC-XV501BK it outright
rejects. Then I tried it on the SONY NC600/B - this one recognizes the CD as a VCD.
But why I try to play it displays C 13:00, according to the manual it implies "Dirty CD".
It is a brand new CD-R!!

The only thing I noticed is, in the DVD2AVI - the video type is saying FILM, so should I be using the template in TMPGEnc the VidoCD-NTSC or VideoCD-NTSCFilm? I am using the NTSC template.

The Easy CD Creator accepts the mpg file and happily creates the VCD and plays it back too.

Any help here welcome.

Thanks.

Please people, try to search through the forums before posting anything -- this issue has been covered way too many times so far :-)

When burning VCDs:

-ALWAYS close/finalize your disc (in EZCD it's something like 'Close disc' or so) -- otherwise it wont work
-use 4x burning or slower -- I burn all my CDs using 1x just to be sure they work
-if CD-RWs don't work, try regular CD-Rs (lots of players wont accept CDRWs)
-try different CD brands -- this normally solves the problem if everything else fails

Hi,

The CD is closed/finalized, I am using the regular CD-R actually tried using different brands.
Did look into the forums the last couple of days.

The thing is I tried a different route DIVDX - ImageWriter to create the VCD, and it works, but the quality of the video is really bad.

I am using the Roxio's EZCD 5 Platinum to create the VCDs.

That is when I wondered If I did something wrong.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Test Ahead's Nero, maybe EZCD VCDs for some reason don't work with you (which would be weird, but then again one CD you burned worked, so obviously either you or your burn software made a mistake at some point).

I tried with Nero, and it worked!! But the Easy CD Creator VCD did not work on thd DVD player. I went and bought Apex 3151 DVD Player, and bingo the VCD I created with Easy CD creator works. So it is the DVD player that has problem?

When I look at the VCD I see 2 tracks with Nero, where as with EZCD there is only one.
