WiiKey setup disc required to run any backups?

Hi,
I just completed a no leg wiikey install. I had to use the dremel technique. I have already installed the Wii 3.1u system update.

Original disc runs fine, but I get 'error reading disc' when I try to load my backups. I am using RiData DVD-R disc and burning backup at 4x. I even try burning it on Verbatim DVD+R, but still no luck.

Any suggestions? Do I need to run the wiikey 1.3 setup disc inorder to run my backup games? If so, I will need to track that down. The Wiikey homesite seems to be down. In addition, will I be able to run the setup disc with the 3.1u system update installed? I will check my solder connection later, but will the originals boot if there is a short?

Actually the exact error is 'unable to read disc'.
