hi,
ive ordered verbatims from america but they will take a few weekss to arrive. So i went out and bought 2 infiniti DVD+R's to try out my flashed xbox because im too eager.
ive ripped my games onot my hard disc with XBC and they have all passed kreonchecker, mulleters tests and XBC tests.
are infiniti discs any good? do i litterally just insert the layerbeak in imgburn and go for it at 1x or 2.4x?
thanks

Set the layerbreak in Imgburn. Burn at 2.4 or 4x. For quality, you should have just Googled "Infiniti dvd+r dl".

well, first off, i'm glad you tried it. my comment to your last few posts was "just try it and see what happens!"
as for your error...not entirely sure. have you updated your dvd burner firmware to the latest from the manufacturer? as long as you have the latest firmware on your dvd burner, using the latest (or close to) version of imgburn, and manually set the layerbreak, you should be good to go.
if you did all this and it still doesn't work...then maybe it's the media.

I was only suggesting Googling the brand because you'll get a whole lot more information than from just a few of us here.
I haven't ran in to those errors before. You should check to see if there is new firmware available for your burner. And it is possible for some media to not be compatable with some burners. But firmware updates usually (but not always) take care of that.

nope...notihng worked so its burning in cloneCD insteead. will post the results...ive read on the cloneCD xbox 360 backup tutorial that people have said ''ive jsut treied some infiniti discs as apposed to verbatims with flawless results so hopefully if these work il stick to verbs and these.
how cna i tell if these infiniti discs will stress the laser any more than verbatims will?
thanks

YAY! My first backup worked. i backed up gun on these because it isnt live compatable i didnt really worry about making a 'bad' backup with this.
before my verbatims arive and i want to start going on line. is there ANYTHING i can do so that i have the best possible chance of not being banned?
i have ran them all through the mukleter tests and kreonchecker and were ripped in XBC. and GUN jsut ran perfectly in ixtreme 1.4 so im guessing that i have the best chance as anyone of not getting banned?
thanks

well, if you have the originals, play the originals. if you want to play backups...you seem to have everything aligned to give yourself the best possible chance of NOT getting banned - ixtreme 1.4, running the checks on mulleter and kreon check, ripping the games directly from originals using an updated kreon firmware.
with that said, there is no 100% way to guarantee that you will not get banned.

if you burn with the .dvd file, you do not need to manually set the layerbreak...it is already encoded in the .dvd file (open it with notepad to see). i set the layerbreak manually in case i forget to burn using the .dvd and burn with the .iso.
to manually set the layerbreak, go to....
Tools > Settings > Write > User Specified Layer Break
