need help putting CFW on slim

i did all the steps in loungers guide

but when i put the magic memroy stick and pandora battery into the slim, it turns on automaticcally like it should. then i press the X button like i should. and then i wait, but nothing happens, the green light stays on, but it says it should turn off on its own, but it doesnt

why is this happenening?

Did you turn on the PSP Slim the way it should be turned on:

SLIM PSP:
->Power off and remove your slim battery.
->Insert the UPMS memory stick
->Now hold L and insert your Pandora Battery.
->Release L when the MS light or screen flashes.
->UL will automatically assign the 3.71 folders and launch DCv3
