I use WIFI for mine all the time and I virtually never lag. Just make sure you have a good signal strength because mines 100%.

11mbps is more than enough, I'm running about 4.5mbps on adverage and I get absolutely no lag unless the host has a horrid speed and/or is stressing out their net with too many ppl on their server.

I get 54 Mbps, but I'm sure 11 Mbps should be fine.

People seem to have got confused here,54mbps is the data rate between the computer and wireless router not between the internet and router.

For example if your internet connection is 8mbps and the computer or router says 54mbps your still only able to download from the internet at 8mbps.If your connected through ethernet it will say 100mbps but you still will only be able to download at 8mbps.

AS for the original question, ethernet is allways best to play games and download movies and music.Wi-Fi is better for just surfing the internet.

Wireless N is great i have one aswell but its pointless as far as the ps3 is concerned because the ps3 can only handle upto G.

Ya, but the N routers have far stronger signals.
