For some reason, after I downloaded divxcodec and some other windows media player codec, my avi files never play the same anymore. The colour of the movie has a greyish tinge. What is the problem here?

Sorry for this double post, but I doubt codecs will help since VLC media player gives the same greyish tinge and VLC uses its own codecs and is supposed to play most formats.
have you tryed uninstalling what you did to see if that fixed your problem? i would do a system restore to the day before you started having your problem!
