This has been asked and replied probably thousand times over the past 5 years. Answer, for the time being, is "no". Most of us (admins) and our regulars seem to hate avatars -- they add no value to the forums whatsoever and instead, make the pages unnecessarily heavy and slower to load (not to mention that most avatars simply look bad). If you insist on "pimping" your posts, you can use your signature field to add a small-ish image there.
