I want a strait out answer, what is the best cooling solution?
Nyko Intercooler EX ( EX, not the plastic ones )
Pelicans stuff (Any disadvantages of this)
Laptop cooler (The bottom thingies)
Or anything else.

I've tried them all, except the intercooler which anyone who uses is crazy, even the newer ones. It's sad that everyone who sells them warn you not to buy them because they will F your system up, i've gone to like 5 Game Stop and asked them about it and they all say it is junk and will break your system. I found Game Stop has a $15 cooling system, where you stand the 360 vertically and then put it on top of the USB powered fan-cooling system and it REALLY helps. It probably won't be cooler than the intercooler, but least you won't have to worry about it breaking your system and voiding your warranty. I tried a laptop cooler, sitting the 360 vertically on top of that, but the problem with that is that the cooling fans are not over the 360 vents much, just over the casing so not much help.

I also use a desktop fan to blow onto the back of the 360 and that really helps it too, know MS reps have recommended I do that. It's sad that MS doesn't give us a rebate or a free cooling system since they obviously messed up with it.

I heard the fan stand causes the disc in the tray when running to scratch more, is this true? Also does the laptop cooler help?

the fan works fine, that's garbage whoever said that, just don't put it 2 inches from the 360. Read what I said above about the laptop cooler, it's ok, but the game stop vertical cooler works better since its sucking hot air from the 360 vent, instead of the cooling the case pretty much with the laptop cooler.

Best cooling solution i would say is the Talismoon whisper quite fan. It is a direct replacement for the internal stock fan and will move twice as much air as the current stock fan will. Unlike the snap on inter coolers that are just a waste of your money. Although you will have to open your 360 to install it. If all else fails you can take a small fan:

and just place it in front of your 360. It will have ten times the airflow then any of the little fans you can get for the 360 to help cool it.

I just got of the phone after talking to several different Microsoft representatives. They all stated that third party cooling systems such as nyko and pelican's products WILL cause hardware failure. They said something along the lines that they take a demand of power that Microsoft did not attend for.
My solution? Get laptop cooler, hook to my pc. That or make Nyko inter cooler plug into the outlet (Yet to find a real guide on this).

Right, a lot of threads have said this about what the MS reps said so that's nothing new and common sense. The problem with a laptop cooler is this, most of the cooling fans of the cooler are not over the vents of the 360. I still use one (bc I got for $8), along with the Game Stop cooling system because that system goes on the side of the 360, directly covering the whole vent. I use a AC powered USB hub to plug both in it. I use a desktop fan behind it. I would not use anyhting Nyko makes, they are an awful company. I called them to return a defective battery pack, and they never answer or return their calls. Just a matter of time before people file a huge class action lawsuit against them (for breaking their 360s) and they are shut down for good. I just can't believe they aren't held liable for breaking all these 360s.

Heres the thing. My xbox will lay horizontal. When playing demos for a while I slightly lift it up and feel heat on the bottom of the console, where the board is. When I touch the back, its perfectly fine. PLaying for more then 2 hours, it would feel slightly hotter as if it was off. Just the bottom I feel heat.

I bet 80% of RROD people are people who play it non-stop for hours on end. MS should send us all coolers as a nice gesture for all of us who got stuck with non-Falcons.

You can prop up your 360 so it sits off of other surfaces. You can use any 4 things that are the same size that you have and stick them under the 4 corners of the machine. This way it is elevated and the bottom is not touching another surface to heat up so much.

for $8 you can go buy a set of old school wooden blocks for kids and use 4 of those. Just make sure you leave the vents open.
Personally i have the Talismoon fan in my system and have played it for hours on end on a few occasions and have never once had it overheat on me in the 10 months i have had it.
and as far as everyone raving about the Elite and the Falcon and all the things they think will be great. I have a brand new Elite (1 week old) and one premium system i bought in February. The older system works better, faster, and gives me no problems at all. The Elite has HDMI. Other than that the Elite seems to load slower, It will tell you on accasion that you do not have content that you do have (like map packs and such). I was thinking it would be a far better system, but comparing the two i have it really isn't other then the HDMI.

I do not think it was a Falcon, but can not be 100% sure without opening it which i do not plan to do. The lot number was just a few numbers off what they said a Falcon should be if what i saw posted was correct. I think mine was something around lot #738 or something and was made by the team they mentioned would be a Falcon mobo. I read some places that say #738 on has then and other that said 742.
Mine has only been played for 2hrs at a time and other than what i mentioned has not overheated. It has failed to start up once (nothing on screen) and had to be restarted a few times. Just not like my old banned console that has had zero problems since day one.
I found a few ways to check without opening it so i will give it a look tomorrow.

Did buy a new one, It is only a week old tomorrow. But you can never tell how old the stock is at some game shops. I went to a high volume store (Gamestop) and just hoped for the best. I may have one and i may not but really they get the RROD too so the Falcon is not much better then the others. MS just has some real issues they need to work out in the next generation, which i hope they actually fix it instead of just giving us some quick fix like they have been doing.
Then again we just keep buying them so i guess it is no rush for them, other then the fact they they are losing a TON of money fixing the RROD under warranty.

you know man, I would take it back and exchange it, GameStop will do it. You paid a lot of money for it and you should have the Falcon one. I would be like, look, I want the Falcon one (going by the lot code and power supply) and if not, want my money back. MS should give everyone coolers or rebate coupons for those of us who got stuck with the old one. They did a smart move though-they rushed it to the market when they had to have know it was defective, just so they would get the jump on PS3 and it has worked. They knew how hard it was to come from behind.
