Hi all,
Im looking to buy a projector to connect my ps3 to and a pull down screen, can anyone recommend any good ones? Are they worth paying for? or would it be better to get say a 42inch HDtv? cheers

It's probably better to get a 42'' HDTV because it's a lot better quality when you go with LCD/Plasma. I find the contrast makes a big difference, although I've never gamed on a projection TV before.

i have a 720p projector i used to use for gaming until i got a hd tv.
the only problems i found where when the image is stretched to 70" and above you lose alot of the sharpness in picture quality and the colours seem to appear dull compared to even an sd tv. also you have to play in darkness all the time, playing in the day even with lights off, curtains closed makes picture quality worse still. i mostly use my projector for watching movies now.

although if you want to impress your friends its always good playing Cod4 on an 80" screen!
my advise would be to get a good hd tv.

I actually have all my games set up to play on an HD projector. It actually is pretty cool and works pretty good...but once you go over 70" you lose sharpness. You'll get better picture quality using an HDTV

The projector I have is an Epson MovieMate 30s and I got it brand new for only 600 (it was the last one at Costco). So I only paid a third of what it would cost for a decent HDTV.

Here's my question though to all you techies...in the somewhat near future I want to get a good HDTV but I'm not sure if I should go LCD or Plasma. I've hard plamsa has the "ghost effect" and with Plasma you can burn a steady image (i.e. the "life gauge" bar on video games) on a screen.
