qucik question: XTreme Firmware Update

if all i wanted to do is play backup games on my xbox 360(not going on XBL), do I need this firmware update? the update makes sure no one can see that you're using a backup when your playing XBL right? so if i didn't want to go on live, i could just make back ups and simply play them right?

no. you need either xtreme or ixtreme firmware for your 360 to play backups. otherwise, your 360 won't recognize the backup as a playable disc.

Heres a question to add, does the jitter fix for 1.4, does that PROTECT me from bad crc ? Using the new SCHTROM alot of new titles are bad CRC so im skeptical to use them or not. If i cant, Can I repair those isos/images for usable crc?
