There are an awful lot of variables that go along with question. It would help if you could inform us as to the process at which you're ripping said movies.
Off the top of my head, that seems like a long time just to rip a movie. Fill us in on the process and programs you're using and we should be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Two hours sounds a bit lengthy. Are you doing deep analysis? I'm not quite certain if this is going to help expedite your process. But the finite version of DVD Shrink is 3.2.

opps sorry..i meant 3.2 ya is there other programs that i can try..like like a copy of a movie as is..with the menus and everything...and scene selections as well..commentary..basically everything! under preferences i use auto open video_ts subfolders, preview on second tab, output is all 4 except the last one, basically default settings..i like my movies to be good quailty as well..burn at 4x..etc etc

is their a way to speed up the process..i know movie only takes only 30 mintues..but i like verything for some reason..

any ideas? please help

would really appreciate it!

BrokexMan,
Unfortunately, slow speed compensates for a 1:1 copy.

Hi, but we've never discussed your pc, is it dual core or a single core P4? If it is am single core, then 2 hours for back up is about right. If you want faster, the a high speed dual core processor is a must.

My new pc is an Intel pentium core 2 duo 2.4 GHz, with a 800MHz FSB and 4 G of ram. I do compression with shrink at 80-90% and almost a 1:1 copy with menus and movie. A long time backup for me is 30 min.My old pc with a 2.4 GHz P4 would take about 2 hours for the same backup.

If speed is what you want , then maybe it's time for a new pc for Christmas. Get a core 2 duo and 4 Gb of ram with out Vista. Stay with Xp
