Is it possible to use a generic harddrive with the 360?
Like a seagate,WD or samsung?

The recent price drop would make this combo a way cheaper option...

What are the 360 HD limitations?

It can be done, but it's a somewhat involved process. Here's one of the more basic sites I've seen on how to go about it.

yeah, and make sure you read carefully where it says it can not be used for Xbox Live Marketplace content. That means no extras like map packs and such.

Hey I posted the wrong link. There is a hack that'll lets you use a WD hard drive as a fully functional hard drive. Although there seem to be some problems like you have the a key from an official MS 120GB hard drive and they supposedly can't be on Live at the same time.
