Toshiba D-R4 - playback issues

I am having playback problems with my Toshiba D-R4. Is there any firmware update I can do to perhaps resolved this issue.

it says software version YH11 and DVD drive software 41. Is there anyway to make a change that may help with playback issues?

Any help is appreciated.
