I am trying to capture VCR video to my computer using the ULead programs (movie factory 2se and video studio 7se.) When I begin a DVD capture, I get the error message that a preview graph cannot be rendered and that I should change to capturing in preview mode. The resulting video, when burned to a dvd looks very bad, especially when there is a lot of movement on the video. It appears jumpy and not nearly as clear as the original tape. Is this caused by preview mode? What would cause the need to use preview mode? I use a Hauppage WinTV card with the latest drivers. I can capture smaller resolutions with better results, though they are only vcd quality rather than dvd. Would it help to capture through a digital camcorder (my present is analog)? I am wondering if it is really possible to get a VCR tape onto a DVD with anything close to the original quality. Has anyone achieved this and if so, using what software/hardware. Thanks!

If you are being forced to use Preview Mode then it is because your Video card does not Support Overlay or it"s Overlay is not compatible with your Capture card...Preview Mode uses a more CPU Power which in Turn can cause Dropped Frames...And if you are Captureing Video in Ulead then you should not capture to Mpeg format becayse Ulead Sucks for Mpeg capture Quality and so does it"s Mpeg encodeing..You should Try to Capture to AVI then use a seperate Mpeg encoder to encode the AVI files But you will need a Lot of Disk sapace to capture to AVI in Ulead....Good Luck
