hey guys I was reading the online smartxx manual on the smartxx website and I have some questions about some things
Pertaining to the Harddrive Setup:
In the config section there is something called Clone HDD and Quick Copy and here are some questions about them
1. Can both of these make a new blank 160 GB Harddrive work just like a regular Xbox Harddrive?
2. If the answert to question one was yes, should the 10 GB Xbox Harddrive be the default Dashboard and settings, a softmodded xbox harddrive with SID 4.0 Installer with Evox as the Dashboard, or a Harddrive Configured as a Hardmodded Drive with Evox as the Dashboard?
3. In the smartXX manual it says clone HDD takes a long time, about how long does this take and depending on how long is it safe to just use quickcopy instead?
4. When I uninstall a softmod using SID 4.0 does it make the harddrive just like a unmodded xbox harddrive?
5. If question one was a yes do I need to do anything else special to use the whole 160 gigs? I heard you can only use 137 gigs without doing some special things.
6.After getting the 160 gb harddrive to work can I leave it unlocked since I dont plan on going on xbox live or would it be better just to lock it anyways.
Now some questions about flashing the bios
1. Where do I download the Bios I am supposed to load onto a Cd-r and Install?
2. Where do I find smartxx updates and if i have a brand new V3 Pro Chip do I need one?
3. What do Bios do and which is the best to run for a version 1.6 Xbox Wanting to use the XBMC Dashboard?
Questions about the SmartXX V3 Pro Bank Mode
1. For a version 1.6 Xbox wanting to run XBMC Should I use the Bankmode low 2MB or the Bankmode mid 2MB or can I choose either?
2. What is the difference between bankmode low 2mb and bankmode mid 2mb?
Question about the Linux CD My chip came with
1.Does the included linux CD just the OS or can I install it on the HDD with the CD as well.
2. Should I make my own CD of a newer version of linux or is this version alright.
Sorry for so damn many questions but I just bought the chip and wanted this all confirmed before I install it. Thankyou so very much for your time
