Yeah, it does that 4 me too so I just go here:

http://www.bluetack.co.uk/convert.html

...and convert it (the plain text blocklist) to Sygate-rule format (ya can use it to convert to lotsa formats) and use it in Sygate Pro.. ;)

More efficient and not freezing up everything as PG does...

Later...

I like the peerguardian program for what it's trying to do. It looks like it would be really cool and easy to update. But I simply can't use it, it's too buggy, takes up too much cpu periodically to the point where I get hangs. So, I switched to Zone Alarm so I could load the ranges in, just like daxx and a lot of people in these forums do. However, I've also heard a lot of people say it never gave them any sort of trouble, I guess there are lots of variables there. At least you know you can still (hopefully) get the job done without using the program itself!

Good news on the PeerGuardian front.

v1.99 pr13-6-expver has finally solved the CPU/resources problem for most people and uses less RAM than recent releases. (The CPU issues have effected EVERY previous release of PeerGuardian.. should be different this time!!)

You can download it from:

http://methlabs.org/methlabs.htm

Please let me know how you get on with it, it should be a MAJOR improvement over past releases.

And yup, I'm working on a UDP version for XP+ too.

Thanks. :)

Thanks for the update m3th0d, and for paying afterdawn a visit! I'll have to try the latest revision. Funny thing is, if I use Overnet with ZA Pro with the blocklist, the resources used by Z.A. climb higher and higher to no end and I have to restart it after awhile (a bug both parties have admitted, but neither has bothered patching.) Next time I use p2p, I'll try it for sure!

Is there any way to use peerguardian's blocklist in Norton's firewall?

I have a firewalled router and I,m using Overnet can I use peerguardian for this program?
The router is also set on the right ports used by Overnet whit virtual server settings.
Does anyone have the answer?

I second that, I now use PeerGuardian all the time when I run p2p (which is always) and it has stayed very easy on my cpu for weeks. I'm very happy to have it fixed!
