Hi

i have just fitted a matrix ininity green dot chip to a ps2 v15, the person i did it for didnt give me any controllers and i dont have any myself. Will the console boot a backed up game without a controller fitted(because it isnt at the moment) and is there anything i need to do to the console after fitting the chip?

No it will not. I had the same problem the first time I installed a Matrix. The chip will not work if there is no controller in the port. It checks for 15 seconds or so, then gives up. See if you can borrow a controller from a buddy and give it a try.

After fitting the chip, if everything is done correctly you shouldn't have to do anything to the unit. I don't believe the Matrix needs a flash upgrade.
