Running ISOs from computer to PSP 3.71 through USB...is this right?

Ok, so yeah, I'm another "newb" on the forums. I got my PSP about a week ago and wanted all these games, but didnt want to pay a ton of money. I know all about downloading the games and all that and found all the games I wanted.

I knew it would be a lot harder than just linking to them from the PSP, obviously. So I searched through the forums looking for the right way to go about modding my PSP so I can play the games I got.

One problem. Im almost totally lost. Seems like there are tons of threads on what I have to do and it's confusing me for some reason and I can't seem to put them in order.

So, tell me if I got this right.
I need to create a Pandora battery somehow.
Then a Magic Memory Stick.
Downgrade my Firmware to 1.50 then up to 3.53 then up to 3.71 (m33-4 or w/e)
Then I can follow this tutorial: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/454995#2747030 and that should work, right?

Any advice? I would like to say Im pretty savy on the computer, so tech talk shouldnt be a problem. Thanks in advance :)

EDIT: Thought I should add in that I do NOT have an extra FAT PSP or FAT battery and that I have the PSP Slim Firmware v3.71

could you give a little more information like what firmware version your psp is and is it phat or slim
