Samsung Drive KEEPS Ejecting!!! - NOT 'Open Tray' Error!!

I have a broken ms28 which I am replacing with a working ms25 flashed to latest xtreme 1.4, with the drive keys swaped so the new board will accept it.

Thing is, as soon as i power up, it ejects and wont stay closed. Just keeps on ejecting. Even on power off it ejects.

I tried going back to original firmware with just drive key swap, but that didnt make a difference.

Now this happens irrespective of whether I have an original/backup game in and also if I leave the SATA cable out!!! So its just receiving power, no data from the Xbox mobo!!

This drive worked perfectly on my previous mobo (which has ROD now).

I have found a few posts relating to this issue, so i dont think its uncommon. BUT nobody has come up with a solution other than refering to the 'Open Tray' error, which this is NOT!

Any ideas .. im very close to just buying a new sammy. If anyone can help I know there's a few people would be very grateful!

Although they're both Sammys, they're not swappable by only replacing the key. You have to spoof the ms25 as a ms28.

Scroll down to the replacing drive section. It'll tell you how to replace a 28 with 25.

Thanks bhetrick.
I read the tutorial and flashed my drive with the spoof.

Unfortunatley, it made no difference.
I'm now on the original firmware with the new drive key and spoofed as a ms-28. But it wont even read original disks.

I dont know weather to buy a new drive, as it maybe a problem with the board?

Has nobody out there managed to resolve this problem?

I sorted this problem by swapping the motherboards for the two drives incase anyone else gets the same issue.
