Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to buy blank dvd media in the uk?? I keep reading about Ritek G04 media is the best to buy???

Can you use American blank dvds in the uk? They are a lot cheaper over there from what i can see!!!

There's no simple answer to cheapest place, as DVD prices vary almost daily, but I've used at least these:

http://www.digitalpromo.co.uk/
http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/
http://www.lynxdv.com/

...American blanks work in the UK just fine, but if you order something outside European Union, you will have to pay VAT (17.5% in the UK) and custom's fees when you get the discs, thus making the order normally far more expensive than ordering from the UK or other EU country.
