I've floowed the guide for 2.81 to 1.50 and it worked very well, but I've searched the forums for a straight forward guide on how to get to the most current dark alex firmware from where I am now and can't find it... please help... and try not to be too rough on me for asking something that might have been right in front of me...

Go HERE and follow the guide to install 3.52 M33-4 (this must be installed first before going to 3.71 M33-4 which is most resent).

After you get to 3.52 M33-4 go HERE to update to 3.71 M33-4 custom firmware which is most current.

Or if you are feeling so LAZY just like me just create a pandora v3 with your FW 1.50 and voila direct tour to 3.71m33-2 and then upgrade to m33-4

PSP (+[__]%): 2.80 < 1.50 > 3.40OE-A > 3.71M33-4 > 3.80m33-5 > 3.90m33-3 > 4.01m33-2 + 8gb MSPD
PS3 HD 60GB: 1.33 > 1.90 > 2.01 > 2.17 - NO OS
Nintendo DS [+[__]%]: EZ Flash 5 Plus + 1GB MicroSD + EZFlash 3in1
Nintendo Wii: 3.2U + 1GB SD Card + WiiKey 1.9s

But creating pandora and using it to upgrade is much harder than upgrading manually but it's much safer though...

At first I was thinking it would be pointless because you would have to install a custom firmware before running the Despertar del Cementero V3 file.

But more that I think about it you could run the TOTALNewbi easyInstaller which you can get HERE. Select the option to install the Universal unbricker files to memory Stick. Then just use the Pandora battery Creator to convert your battery to a Pandora battery (make sure you backup battery eeprom before converting).

Yes, the Total Newbi Easy Installer would be less complicated.

And also when i had 1.50 it was very easy to change my battery back and forth.

Nope the TotalNewb installer installs the original 1.50 kernel Pandora battery Creator application to convert the Battery. You need to Hardmod the battery or buy a Datel Tool Battery if you don't have a 1.50 or custom firmware PSP.
