I have been reading up on PSP slim, I see slim firmware mentioned here and there is it true, that I can buy these for my kids and make them work, or should I get the used fat psp with1.50 firmware at my local gamestop, there is only a $30.00 a piece difference in price. I know if there is a firmware for the psp slim, they probably would like them better.

Yes 3.71 M33 custom firmware is for FAT and SLIM PSP's.

Just curious, 6 months ago there where certain psp?s you didn?t want to buy, no firmware available, has things turned around so quickly that it doesn?t matter which you buy, you?ll still be able to apply the firmware?

Since the Pandora Battery + Magic Memory Stick came along it doesn't matter what PSP you have. Custom firmware can be installed to it.
