I have been getting dvd covers from www.cdcovers.cc for years now. Now I can't access the site. IE says cannot display page. I know the site still exists. But why can't I access it?

Merry Christmas to you!!!

Ya, I clicked the link in your message and I got the same result. IE cannot display this page. I think there may be something on my pc that is blocking it. I have Norton Internet Security 2008, I've tried disabling auto protect and I still can't get to that site.

Any ideas?

Obviously none of the above applies to u in that u are an eccentric dvd cover collector, and collect only the most desirable and choice dvd covers.

I can understand that. I get the covers because I have three small children who like to destroy things. I make backups of all the dvds i buy. Then, I put those away and put all my backups on my bookshelf in cases with covers. That way, if the kids get crayon crazy, I can make a new cover and put the dvds up a shelf higher..lol

I'm not sure what you mean by block everything. I blocked http and I couldn't load my home page. So, i have http allowed. there arent too many settings to change to from what I can see in this program.

Again, I appreciate your input.

I go to the same site, and have not donated, but can still get on. Try using FireFox browser, since their site actually recommends using it.

I did a back check on their web site and it looks like cdcovers.cc is down at this time. I don't think the problem is on your end.

dammit.. I answered this already

500 internal server error (undefined)

it's a site server problem ffs.. (are people getting so thick or plain damn lazy they can't even google a simple server error code before making mulitple posts about it ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SITE!!!!!!!?) nothing that anybody but the site owners can fix.. they are either doing maintenance or moving servers or something else.. wait a while and it will come back up... it's not a peerguardian (pile of shit thing that is) problem because the server IS responding.. it just has an internal file/path error so no site to load.

Talk about hijacking a thread - this thing started in 2007!

cdcovers.cc has a history of being overloaded, and hard to get into.

see.. I'm a long standing member over there.. they suggest "To get the best from this site we recommend Firefox"

why don't people take advice?

anyhow.. it's up again.. the grapevine tells me they have been doing a database move and update for the new year.. removing duplicated covers where better quality files are now available and generally having a tidy up. I think they have updated the forums software as well..

First port of call with sites like cdcovers should always be their forums.. IF they are up.. they usually stay up even if the main site goes down as they appear to be on a different server.. but you need a direct link instead of relying on the main site portal.

freecovers.net is More Reliable, and They Usually Have the Latest Covers There.

Is Cdcovers.cc's Upload Fixed, Yet?

Ahhh.. but I have shared important hardware info like the full maintenance manuals for epson printers ;)

Don't know about the upload.. I don't make covers for anything.. that smells of piracy/counterfeit goods and I don't need it..
