I ripped 4 movies to my HD which seemed alright, because they all added very quickly (roughly 30 mins for each when using DVD Fab Decryptor), but now all of a sudden, when I try to use DVD shrink, I get an error message that says not enough memory is available. At first, I thought the computer was having trouble with memory on the HD, but after i checked the windows task manager, the physical memory usage is really high still (the usage is around 50% without even attempting to use DVD shrink). The physical memory usage wasn't up so high, because I successfully made a copy of 28 Weeks Later, and the shrinking didn't take that long. Why does my physical memory seem to be out of the roof and how do I get it back down? I tried terminating a few programs, but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick.

In addition to the solid advice from ZoSo, try using shrink in reauthor mode movie only.Use the frame advance from the front of the movie and edit out the first few secs with only the studio avatar before the movie really begins and do the same at the end ( editing out embedded subroutint that louses up shrink)

In addition to the solid advice from iluvendo adding to the solid advice from Zoso, it's also strongly advised not to multi-task while backing up a movie. No extra programs, surfing, etc.
