I am looking for ways to check my Wii and Wii games region.
PAL / NTSC / JAP..

Right till now everything is working smoothly until I got a semi-brick after an update from a download SMG. Which is why I need to know which region that SMG rests in so that I can used the appropriate measures for unblocking the semi-brick.

You don't really need to know the region of the SMG you obtained (although feeding the iso through WiiBrickBlocker and using "Read Info" will tell you). What you really need to know is the region of your Wii. Once you know that, you can find a game of the same region with an update later then 3.0/3.1 and it should unbrick your Wii after that said update. If its a NTSC-JPN Wii then WiiFit has been claimed to have the latest update for it.

NB SMG of different regions to your Wii is said to be incompatible, I'm not sure how true this is but might be worth sticking with your own region if your SMG isn't running after starting it up.
